There is a rapture on the lonely shore;
There is society, where none intrudes.
By the deep sea, and music in its roar:
I love not man the less, but Nature more...

-Lord Byron

Aida

My first (previously only) Opera experience was many years ago with my sister. I had just enough money to buy clothes nice enough to go. Donned in new shoes, sport jacket and tie, she in a lovely dress. We went arm in arm to our local theater in Salt Lake City, trying our best to be somewhat cultured. I loved the evening, albeit I have no recollection of the show we saw......
Here in Prague, I wanted to re-visit the Opera. I chose to see Giuseppe Verdi's Aida, and fell back in love with the Opera.

Smartly dressed, I sit with Praha's high society, or at least it has that feel. I look around to see magnificent architecture in every nook and cranny.

I feel her hand holding mine as the curtain rises....
